Stafford and Newsom swear in for another term on county commission

District 4 Commissioner Earl Stafford and District 2 Commissioner Brandon Newsom swore in to serve another four years on the Holmes County Board of Commissioners Tuesday.

Stafford knew he was sailing into another term on the commission when he ran unopposed for the Aug. 23 primary election. Stafford said he was both shocked and humbled to be the first unopposed commissioner in Holmes County history.

Newsom ran against incumbents Josh Jackson and Albert Jordan during the primary and secured another term by capturing nearly 43 percent of the vote. Newsom also said he was humbled.
