Pauline W. Helms
Pauline W. Helms passed away peacefully on June 19, 2023 at the age of 85. Pauline was born on November 20, 1937 in Bonifay, FL to Hasten Charles Williams and Mary Esther Williams. Pauline went to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) which she retired from 47 years later. When she was not working Pauline could be found reading, fishing, cooking, or spending as much time with her family as possible. Pauline was a devoted and loving mother, granny, sister and friend. She took pride in her family and was always helping anyone in need. She genuinely loved taking care of her family and the elderly as a CNA of 47 years. She was best known as, “Granny Gum”. Pauline was also lovingly known as “Pobs, Otis, Leonia, and Granny Gum” by her family and friends. Pauline is predeceased by her husband H.L Helms. They were married for 11 years before his passing. She is also predeceased by her children Dennis L. Thompson, Douglas E. Thompson, her parents Hasten Charles Williams and Mary Esther Williams, her grandparents, Frank and Penny Williams. Her grandchildren, Michael and Joseph “Jojo” and her siblings Barbara J. Lindsey, Aubrey Williams and Don Williams. Pauline is survived by her children, David C. Thompson, June and Houston Harris, Donald J. Thompson, Danny and Darlene Thompson, Raymond and Angela Thompson, Russell and Aimee Thompson and Rena and Tommy Cripe. She is also survived by her brother Frank Williams, Sister Darlene Harris, and Cynthia Coatney. Her 26 grandchildrem, 33 great grandchildren and her 2 great-great grandchildren.
