HCSO makes arrest in burglary and theft case

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has arrested James Koby Smith in connection with a burglary reported on April 12. According to the HCSO, Smith faces charges of Grand Theft, Burglary, and Dealing in Stolen Property after allegedly stealing items including guitars, a firearm, a tactical vest, amplifiers, and speakers.

Investigators have recovered most of the stolen property, which allegedly had been sold to multiple individuals. Smith is currently in custody at the Walton County Jail on unrelated charges and is awaiting extradition to Holmes County.
