In a close game Friday night, the Ponce de Leon High School Lady Pirates basketball team defeated Wildwood 39-38 for the state title.
This is the team’s second consecutive state championship. They finished the season 23-3, giving the team an 88.5 percent win percentage. Wildwood finishes at 19-5.
