Routine patrol ends with two in jail for warrants and drugs

Two arrested on warrants and drug charges in two separate incidents after routine patrols.

On September 7, a deputy with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a female riding a bicycle on R.M. Ward Road. The female was identified as Melissa Freeman of Westville. A check through dispatch found  Freeman had an active Holmes County warrant.

The deputy then advised Freeman she was under arrest, at which time she made it known that she had methamphetamine in her pocket, according to HCSO. The methamphetamine was removed from her person. Freeman is charged with possession of methamphetamine as well as the warrant.

In a separate incident, HCSO conducted another traffic stop of a four-wheeler also on R.M. Ward Road. Contact was made with the driver, David Wilson of Ponce de Leon, who informed the deputy that he did not have a valid driver’s license, according to HCSO. Dispatch advised that Wilson also had an active Holmes County warrant.

A search of Wilson’s belongings produced a small baggie of methamphetamine in a cigarette pack. A pipe was discovered in his shirt pocket. Wilson is also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to the warrant.
