A 35-year-old woman from Troy, Ala., died at the scene of a two-vehicle wreck in Bonifay on Friday night, March 15.
The unidentified woman was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man, also from Troy.
The Alabama driver hit a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man from Bonifay at County Road 173 on State Road 79 after going through a red light at the intersection, a Florida Highway Patrol news release said.
“The initial collision then caused the right side of Vehicle 1 to collide into a concrete utility pole at the southwest corner of SR 79 and CR 173,” the news release said. “Vehicle 1 came to final rest against the pole.”
Notification for the woman’s next of kin was being attempted. The Albama driver was transported to a medical center, while the Bonifay driver was not injured.
“The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending,” the news release said.
