Holmes schools kick off senior passes for home games

In a heartwarming initiative designed to foster greater community involvement, Holmes District Schools is proud to announce the introduction of Senior Citizen Passes, allowing all Holmes County residents aged 65 and older to attend home athletic events at no cost. This initiative, aimed at honoring the senior members of the community, offers an opportunity for them to enjoy local sports and connect with their neighbors in a lively and supportive atmosphere.

To obtain a Senior Citizen Pass, eligible residents are required to visit their designated home school—whether it be Holmes County High School, Ponce de Leon, Poplar Springs, or Bethlehem—with a valid driver’s license to verify their age. Once issued, the pass must be presented at the gate to receive free admission to any regular-season home game. Please note that the pass is personalized and non-transferable, ensuring that the holder’s name appears on the pass. While this pass grants access to all regular-season home games, it does not apply to playoff or any FHSAA postseason events.

“We are delighted to offer this opportunity to our senior citizens,” Holmes County Superintendent, Buddy Brown remarked. “It’s a chance for our older residents to enjoy an evening out, cheering on our local teams and becoming even more involved in our vibrant school communities.”

Seniors are encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity, which promises not just thrilling sports action but also a sense of belonging and participation in the life of Holmes County. Come out, enjoy the games, and be a part of the community spirit that Holmes County schools a cornerstone of local life.
