The City of Bonifay presented its first ever Employee of the Quarter award to firefighter Josh
Myers at the City Council meeting, May 19. According to the city of Bonifay, this new
recognition program was created to honor employees who willingly go above and beyond in
their service to our city. Department heads submit nominations each quarter, and one
individual is selected. Josh was nominated by Fire Chief Travis Cook. “Josh Myers is the
kind of person every fire department hopes to have,” Chief Cook comments, “He’s selfless,
dependable, and hard working. Despite having a full-time job that keeps him on the road, he
still finds time to serve Bonifay with excellence. Whether it be late at night doing truck
checks or spending weekends preparing to respond directly from the station, he’s putting
time in to serve others.” Mayor Larry Cook echoed Chief Cook’s sentiment. “His dedication
and work ethic are admirable, and one thing I love most is the example he sets for his three
boys that love playing at our fire station. Josh is invaluable to Bonifay Fire Rescue and the
City of Bonifay,” expresses Mayor Cook.
