BONIFAY – Holley Development requested their first payment from the City of Bonifay in the amount of $83,721 for the Bonifay Fire Department expansion project which was approved when the Bonifay City Council met in regular session on May 24. This payment comes after much contention between Holley and Dewberry Engineers, where Dewberry stated Holley would not provide requested quantity information to verify reimbursement requests.
After a special meeting on May 16 a tentative agreement was reached with Holley and Dewberry meeting at the fire station to work
out the wrinkles in the relationship. Satisfied with the results of the
meeting, Dewberry gave the recommendation for the city to fulfill the pay request.
Dewberry Engineer Elissa Pettis says she is hopeful about the future of the project. “We are glad we were able to come to a resolution on the issues with Holley,” said Pettis. “We are looking forward to a smooth working relationship with a great final product when we reach the finish line.”
Bonifay City Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on June 14.
