A traffic stop Tuesday just west of Esto led to more than a drug arrest.
On May 24, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a car driven by Justin Jarrard of Dothan, Alabama, on Alex Brown Rd. , Justin Jarrard of Dothan, Alabama. While one deputy spoke with the driver, who advised that he was driving with a suspended licnese, another deputy saw marijuana inside the vehicle.
The passenger, Mary Allison Foxworth, of Webb, Alabama, exited the vehicle and a search conducted, during which a small container of methamphetamine and a syringe belonging to Jarrard were found. The sheriff’s office also reported that inside purse was the shaft of a pen containing methamphetamine and a hydrocodone pill for which she did not have a prescription.
Jarrard was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Foxworth was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Prior to having it towed, deputies found during an inventory of the vehicle various tools and HVAC equipment with an estimated value of more than $20,000. These items are suspected to have been stolen during a burglary and theft in Geneva County, Alabama, reported the sheriff’s office.
Holmes County Sheriff’s Office investigators worked with the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office to execute a search warrant. The stolen property was recovered and turned over to Geneva County authorities.
