Tropical Storm Nicole may bring up to an inch-and-a-half of rain and maximum wind gusts up to 35 mph to Holmes and Washington Counties.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm is currently moving though the Northwestern Bahamas and is expected to become a hurricane before making landfall along the east coast of Florida Wednesday night.
Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph. A tropical storm warning is now in effect for most counties in southern Georgia and remains in effect for the Florida Big Bend.
Maximum wind gusts are expected to occur on Thursday into early Thursday night. Rainfall is expected to be heaviest on the east side of Nicole. Further track shifts to the west could increase rainfall amounts.
