The town of Esto is under a boil water notice following a loss of pressure at the town’s water wells. The incident occurred because of a power outage during the night of Sunday, Jan. 21.
“As a precautionary measure, the town advises all residents and businesses to boil their water before consumption or use until further notice,” a news release from the town government said. “This includes drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and any other activity that involves the use of water.”
The Esto Water Works has resolved the issue and water pressure has been fully restored to the town’s water system. However, as part of standard protocol, microbial samples are being taken.
“The boil water notice will be lifted once these samples have been tested and confirmed negative for dangerous pathogens,” the town’s announcement said. “We understand the importance of having safe and clean water for our residents and every effort is being made to expedite the testing process.”
