A deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located on Highway 81 on 29 December, in pursuit of a female suspect with active warrants. The deputy identified the individual as Brittany Phillips upon arrival at the scene.
Phillips was initially observed standing near the corner of the house before attempting to walk away. The deputy issued verbal commands for her to halt; however, Phillips fled the scene on foot. After a brief chase, the deputy successfully apprehended and detained her.
A subsequent search of Phillips’ person revealed the possession of a hypodermic needle. Additionally, an inspection of the backpack she was carrying uncovered methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe.
Phillips, who already had an active warrant, now faces several new charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest without violence.
