A deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Hamilton’s Store on January 10, 2025. The driver, identified as John Smith, a resident of Alabama, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Additionally, Smith was discovered to have outstanding warrants in Alabama.
A subsequent search of Smith’s person revealed a methamphetamine pipe containing methamphetamine in his jacket pocket. Following this discovery, Smith was immediately taken into custody.
Smith faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license suspended.
