Parker lawyer not yet ready for trial in Guillen murder

HOLMES COUNTY – A trial date was not set for William Shane Parker during his pre-trial hearing on Nov. 17.

Parker is charged in the 2020 homicide of 51-year-old Raul Ambriz Guillen with premeditated murder, abuse of a dead human body, and tampering with evidence.

Public Defender Derick Blount advised the court he had received and reviwed the trial transcripts of co-defendant Jeremie Odell Peters and had interviewed two of three witnesses. The third witness is currently in Holmes County Jail where Blount said he would be interviewing them this week. Blount said he would not be ready for trial this month but would request to come back for the December pre-trial date.

Parker’s next pre-trial date is set for December 15, with his trial expected to take place in December or January.
