Florida unemployment numbers released

The latest unemployment numbers for Florida are in.

The September unemployment rate for Holmes County was 3.4%. With a total labor force of 7,443, the unemployment level is 251.

Holmes County was ranked 31st out of 67 Florida counties in terms of the unemployment rate. 

The September rate is the same as the August rate. The 2022 September rate was 2.8%. 

‘Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.8 percent in September 2023, up 0.1 percentage point from the August 2023 rate, and up 0.1 percentage point from a year ago,’ the Florida Department of Commerce said about the latest release. ‘There were 309,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,154,000. The U.S. unemployment rate was 3.8 percent in September.’
