Holmes District Schools are set to continue to provide free meals for all students

The Holmes District School Board will continue their participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) National School Lunch/School Breakfast Programs for the 2024-25 school year.

The Holmes District School Board will continue their participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) National School Lunch/School Breakfast Programs for the 2024-25 school year.

This program is for low-income schools and school districts to provide a no cost lunch option. “Schools that adopt CEP are reimbursed using a formula based on the percentage of students categorically eligible for free meals based on their participation in other specific means-tested programs” says USDA.

All seven schools in the district are participating in this program again this year. This means that every student, no matter income or status, can receive free breakfasts and lunches Monday through Friday for the school they are enrolled in.
