By COLLIN BREAUXDue to his work helping out the Holmes County Public Library, a dedication plaque was given to the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) in honor of former Commissioner Bobby Sasnett during a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Sasnett, of Westville, passed away in 2022 at the age of 74. He served on the BOCC for District 1.
“His service as District 1 County Commissioner and support for those residents never went unnoticed,” Library Director Becky Marsh said. “He always offered support for the Holmes County Public Library, understanding the importance of providing literacy, education, childrens’ and adult programs to all residents.”
Marsh said it was touching that his family continues to take care of the community and that the library would accept putting the plaque up in their facility.
“Bobby really loved that library and did everything he could for it,” BOCC Chairman Jeff Good said. “We’re definitely happy to see a plaque go up there for him.”
Sasnett served as District 1 commissioner from 2012 to 2020.
