Holmes County first responders and community commemorate 20th anniversary of 9/11
BONIFAY Holmes Countys first responders and members of the community commemorated the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with Day of Remembrance Ceremonies held Saturday at Bonifay K-8.
Sheriff John Tate welcomed the crowd, followed by the presentation of colors by the Holmes County High School JROTC and the singing of the National Anthem by Trish Brannon.
Holmes Countys first responder agencies were represented by Sheriff Tate, who spoke on behalf of law enforcement, Travis Cook and Ryan Martin who spoke on behalf of the countys fire departments, EMS Supervisor Steve Connell, speaking on behalf of EMS, and Pastor John Richbourg, who spoke on behalf of the community.
Special music was provided by HCSO Deputy Russell McNeal
The event concluded with the last call for those lost on that day given by the Holmes County Communications Center.
