Traffic stop leads to three arrests

HOLMES COUNTY – Three subjects are in custody following a traffic stop on Thursday by deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy initiated the stop in the area of Highway 181 and Pleasant Ridge Road after observing that a vehicle driven by a woman identified as Tiffany Simmons did not have a tag.

HCSO reports that while the deputy was running a warrant check on Simmons and her passengers, Michael Ward and Thomas Taylor, K9 Highway conducted a free air sniff on the exterior of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, along with a set of digital scales and a glass smoking pipe.

Simmons, Ward, and Taylor were each arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
