Holmes County Schools closing Tuesday due to severe weather

Holmes District Schools sent the following message on Monday, Jan. 8:

“Due to the anticipated severe weather in our area later tonight and on Tuesday morning, Holmes County Schools will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. This decision is made out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students, parents, and employees.

After-school extra-curricular activities may continue as planned on both Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Each school will announce plans for after-school activities. The academic after-school program will continue today as planned, but will not meet tomorrow.

The School Board meeting scheduled for 9:00 a.m. has been postponed to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

At this time, we anticipate resuming a normal school schedule on Wednesday, January 10. Please stay severe weather aware and stay safe!”
