Members of the Bonifay K-8 School Beta Club recently traveled down south to Orlando for the state convention and picked up some awards in the process.

Bonifay K-8 School Beta Club members picked up some awards during the recent state convention in Orlando. They will go on to represent the area for the national convention in Georgia later this year. [CONTRIBUTED] 

Club members picked up four gold medals for scrapbooking, color photography, digitally enhanced photography, and woodworking; seven silver medals for songfest, accessorized design, living literature, poetry, speech, club trading pin, and campaign skit; and a bronze medal for fiber art.

Elementary school principal Tiffany Steverson said the winning student groups qualified for the national convention, which will be held in Savannah, Georgia, in June.
