Residents of Holmes County looking to get rid of old junk that could be harmful can do so with an upcoming waste amnesty day.
The trash deposit event will be held at the Holmes County Recycling Center (3165 Thomas Drive in Bonifay) on on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 8 a.m.-noon.
Accepted household wastes include pesticides, used oil, cleaning solvents, paint strippers, brake fluid, and antifreeze. Old computer hardware such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and scanners can also be deposited.
Conditionally-exempt small quantity generators such as those used by small businesses or schools will be accepted at a reduced rate.
