Arrest Made following traffic stop in Holmes County

A routine traffic stop conducted by a deputy from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on January 17, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a local individual on multiple charges.

According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in the Dollar General parking lot in Ponce de Leon when a deputy stopped a red motorcycle. The driver, identified as Mickey Sego, admitted to not possessing a valid driver’s license. A subsequent records check confirmed that Sego’s license was suspended.

During the traffic stop, K9 Timex was deployed to conduct a sniff of the motorcycle. The canine alerted to the presence of narcotics, prompting a search of a backpack found on the vehicle. The search reportedly uncovered a glass smoking pipe and vials containing a liquid substance. Field testing indicated that the substance was methamphetamine.

Mickey Sego was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the matter.
