Two Defuniak Springs residents charged in meth sale

According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Maggie Fugate and Roger Pelfrey of DeFuniak Springs have been charged with selling methamphetamine and using a communication device to facilitate the crime. A drug investigation led by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has resulted in charges against two DeFuniak Springs residents, Maggie Fugate and Roger Pelfrey, for their involvement in the sale of methamphetamine and the unlawful use of a two-way communication device, according to the HCSO.

Investigators say the suspects traveled to a location in Holmes County on March 10, where they conducted an illegal drug transaction. Following the controlled purchase, arrest warrants were issued for both individuals.

On April 1, Fugate and Pelfrey were located at a Walton County residence by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. The pair will be extradited to Holmes County to face the charges stemming from the March incident.
