Mason Brannen places second in state at FFA competition

Poplar Springs High School Sophomore Mason Brannan recently placed second at the state tractor knowledge and driving contest with Future Farmers of America.

School officials say Brannen has worked “very hard” this year to make it to State level with FFA.  Only 17 students passed the tractor mechanics and safety exam to be eligible to drive across the State of Florida.  Brannen held the second highest score on the exam and scored the second highest in driving skills.  Brannen, who was only five points from first place, is FFA President at Poplar Springs.

The win that secured him a spot in the state competition marks the 15th time the Poplar Springs FFA chapter has gone to state-level in Career Development Event Contest in the past 14 years.
