On June 22, 2025, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Melanie Logsdon of Chipley, Florida, on Selma Church Road.
During the stop, Logsdon exited the vehicle while tightly clutching her purse. As she stepped away from the vehicle, a hypodermic syringe was observed in plain view on the driver’s seat. The syringe later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Logsdon was placed under arrest but refused to release her purse, actively resisting the deputy’s efforts. After the purse was secured, a search revealed a quantity of methamphetamine inside.
Logsdon was transported to the Holmes County Jail and charged with:
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Resisting Arrest Without Violence
