UPDATED: Bonifay K-8, HCHS to dismiss as usual
The Holmes County School District reports that Bonifay K-8 and Holmes County High School will dismiss at normal time this afternoon and will follow the usual dismisall procedures. There is no update on the suspect at this time.
Bonifay K-8 and Holmes County High School campuses are currently on “heightened security” status as the result of a pursuit of a suspect in the area. The suspect is on foot, having reportedly fled from an attempted traffic stop in the area of Panhandle Lane after he was identified as a person of interest at a report of a disturbance at a local grocery store.
The subject is described as a black male, about 5’8” in height and weighing about 145 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black and white jacket and multi-colored shorts.
No further details are available at this time; however, the school district advises students will be kept inside as a precaution.
