BONIFAY – The Holmes District School Board and Holmes County emergency responders performed a mock mass casualty exercise at Holmes County High School and Bonifay K-8 on Monday, June 28.
The drill was meant for responders to practice and assess the coordination among agencies, students, and their guardians.
Sheriff John Tate states these types of training are critical for first responders.
“We conduct these trainings so that should an event ever happen, we will be ready to do what needs to be done.”
The following agencies participated in the drill: Holmes District School Board, Holmes County SheriffÂ’s Office, Holmes Emergency Management, Holmes County Emergency Medical Services, Bonifay Fire Department, Esto Fire Department, Pine Log Fire Department, Gritney Fire Department, Pittman Fire Department, Holmes County Department of Health, Doctors Memorial Hospital, and Bonifay Police Department.
