BONIFAY – An early morning pursuit lands a Geneva County, Alabama resident in jail.
Early Thursday morning on August 26, Holmes County SheriffÂ’s Office deputies were patrolling on Highway 2 near the river bridge, when radar showed a green Kia Soul traveling eastbound at 102 miles per hour.
When the deputy caught up to the vehicle an attempt to conduct a traffic stop was made. According to HCSO, at this time the driver of the car initiated a pursuit going south on Highway 177 at high rates of speed.
The vehicle then turned south onto Highway 79 where the Bonifay Police Department joined in the pursuit. The suspect then turned onto Thomas Drive and ultimately into Holmes Correctional Institution where the driver, identified as Michael Price, was taken into custody. Price is being charged with fleeing and attempting to elude and reckless driving.
