A Holmes County man is in custody on drug and resisting charges after a traffic stop by a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Johnathan Whitehead was traveling on a four-wheeler on Highway 177 on Feb. 2 when he was subject to a traffic stop.
As the deputy was speaking with Whitehead, he took a bag of marijuana out of his pocket. This prompted a search of Whitehead’s person where he became uncooperative. Whitehead then removed a glass meh pipe from his jacket pocket and attempted to destroy it.
According to HCSO, the deputy grabbed hold of Whitehead who began actively resisting. Gaining control, the deputy detained Whitehead.
A further search found a small plastic baggie containing methamphetamine.
Whitehead is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and resisting arrest without violence.
