Two Alabama men are behind bars after an alert deputy saw something out of the ordinary.
In the early morning hours of March 24, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling in Esto and noticed a truck backed up to a dumpster at the Express Lane.
The white Dodge pickup held two occupants, Angel Torrijos and Alexis Zamaro, both of Alabaster, Alabama. According to HCSO, the deputy obtained probable cause to search the vehicle and found a stolen 9MM handgun, marijuana and a THC vape.
Torrijos was found to have outstanding warrants out of Alabaster, Alabama for robbery.
Both men are charged with possession of marijuana. Zamaro was also charged with theft of a firearm. Torrijos is being held on the robbery warrant.
