The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) announced the arrest of Elbert Keathley, a suspect in connection with the burglary of the Express Lane in Esto on July 26, 2023. The arrest was made following an investigation by the HCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division.
On July 26, 2023, Keathley allegedly broke into the Express Lane by busting out the front door and stole cigarettes and other items. Through investigative work and forensic evidence, Keathley was identified as the suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest.
Keathley was serving time in the Alabama Department of Corrections on unrelated charges and was released to Holmes County Sheriff’s Office to face charges of burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief.
“This arrest is a testament to the diligent efforts of our team and the community’s cooperation. We remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of our residents,” said Sheriff Tate.
