Ponce De Leon High School student threatens school, resource officers rule the campus safe

On the night of September 9, Ponce de Leon High School administrators received a tip that a student made a threatening statement at school, a FortifyFL tip was also made. Following school safety procedures, the District Safety Department and the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office were notified.

School resource officers were dispatched to conduct an investigation which concluded that there was not a credible threat to school safety. The school threat assessment team will be conducting further interviews today. Out of an abundance of caution, extra resources will be available to the school.
