On October 12, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 177 near Adolph Whitaker Road. The driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit. The suspect vehicle looped around Adolph Whitaker and headed south on Highway 177.
At the intersection of Highway 177 and Highway 79, the vehicle made a U-turn and began heading north on Highway 177, nearly striking a patrol vehicle. Deputies forced the vehicle off the road, bringing it to a stop. The driver, identified as Blake Berry, was taken into custody.
Berry now faces charges of fleeing, attempting to elude, and reckless driving.
