Several members of Ponce de Leon Volunteer Fire and Rescue participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Edgewater Beach Resort in Panama City Beach held on September 6. Hosted by 850 Heroes 4 Heroes, each participant pays tribute to a Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. The climb is approximately 2071 steps and honors the memory of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11.
