Dothan man killed in Holmes County crash

A two-vehicle crash on County Road 177A at Beall Packing Road claimed the life of a Dothan, Alabama man on Sunday, November 2, at approximately 3:05 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of an SUV traveling west on Beall Packing Road failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the path of a northbound pickup truck on County Road 177A.

The front of the pickup struck the driver’s side of the SUV, causing the SUV to come to rest on the west shoulder of County Road 177A, partially blocking the southbound lane. The pickup came to a controlled stop on the west shoulder.

The 58-year-old driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 23-year-old driver of the pickup, from Bonifay, sustained minor injuries.

According to the report from FHP, both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
