Bonifay Fire-Rescue, (pictured back row) is partnering with Ellie’s Boxes of Hope and Ellie Winslow, (pictured in front), to provide immediate assistance to families displaced by residential fires.
Through the partnership, Bonifay Fire-Rescue crews now carry special “Boxes of Hope” on response units and can directly distribute them to families following significant fire losses.
“Boxes of Hope are carefully assembled kits designed to provide comfort and essential supplies to families and their pets during the most difficult moments after a fire,” Alexis Winslow said.
Ellie’s Boxes of Hope is nonprofit organization based in Bay County that assembles care kits containing hygiene items, basic necessities, and comfort items, with additional kits for children and pets. Each box costs approximately $10 to $15 to assemble and is filled through donations from local businesses and community supporters. The organization also partners with fire departments in Washington County, Panama City, Walton County, and Callaway County.
