Investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and Bonifay Police Department (BPD) have arrested and charged George Cadenhead with sexual battery on a child under the age of 12.
The investigation began after a victim disclosed to Bonifay Police officers that she had been sexually abused when she was approximately three years old. During the course of the investigation, another victim also reported being molested by Cadenhead in Bonifay.
BPD forwarded information regarding the incident that occurred within the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction to HCSO investigators. During an interview with Cadenhead, HCSO investigators reported that he admitted to engaging in sexual conduct with the victim, corroborating her account of the abuse.
As a result of the investigation, HCSO charged Cadenhead with sexual battery on a child under 12, and the Bonifay Police Department charged him with sexual molestation on a child in connection with its case.
Both agencies conducted complementary investigations, resulting in separate charges against Cadenhead. Officials said the collaborative effort underscores the commitment of local law enforcement agencies in Holmes County to work together in seeking justice for victims.
