The Bonifay Community Quilt show, held on rodeo weekend, had over 150 attendees, far more
than expected, marking the first show as successful. The show showcased 63 quilts, 8 vendors,
and was attended by numerous supporters and volunteers.
The Viewer’s Choice winning quilt, which was over 100 years old and titled “Postage Stamp Design,” was submitted by the great-granddaughter of the quilter, Samantha Perry. The second choice was awarded to a quilt titled “Vickie’s Gift,” and the third choice was awarded to a quilt titled “Farm Girls Unite.” All three
quilts were beautiful, making it difficult for the viewers to choose between submissions,
according to the show’s organizers.
“The show was a huge success. Thank you to the community for coming to support each other,”
organizers stated. The quilt show will return in two years during rodeo time.
