According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on Wednesday, June 3 to a report that seven juveniles had run away from Gateway Academy in Holmes County. All seven were quickly located and returned safely to the facility.
While deputies were gathering information for their report, a disturbance broke out inside one of the dormitories. Deputies observed several juveniles actively fighting, and during the altercation one juvenile used a chair to break several windows.
A staff member sustained minor injuries during the incident. After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting an investigation, deputies arrested three juveniles on charges of inciting a riot, battery on staff, and criminal mischief.
