The City of Bonifay has announced improvements to Veterans Memorial Park following the award of $200,000 in funding from the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program.
According to a city release, the current phase of the project will include the installation of new playground equipment such as a play dome with an accessible ramp, swings, and a new surface border. Additional upgrades will feature new trash receptacles, benches, picnic tables, and a hydration station.
City officials stated that future phases are anticipated to include renovations to courts, improvements to parking and sidewalks, and other enhancements.
The goals of the project are to improve safety, create a more engaging and accessible play area, and refresh the overall appearance of the park.
