The Holmes Baptist Association, a network of 27 Southern Baptist churches in Holmes County, marked a historic milestone as it celebrated its 100th anniversary of ministry and community service. The gathering held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on October 27 featured both reflection and celebration, The association continues to look forward to new opportunities to grow and engage with the community.
Following a brief time of routine business, the association began a time of celebration, highlighting impactful ministry achievements from the past year. Members were inspired by ministry reports from a recent summer mission trip to Saluda, SC, as well as updates from New Beginnings Counseling and Family Ministry. Additionally, the association shared news of its involvement in Florida Baptist Disaster Relief, with a focus on support efforts in Perry, FL.
“Our association has adopted a three-point vision for the future: Encouraging Churches, Equipping Churches, and Engaging Communities while serving as kingdom partners,” said Associational Mission Strategist Randy Torrance. The 100th anniversary celebration gathered 80 people in attendance with 17 churches represented.
