Voters will have the opportunity to hear from their local candidates on July 27 in Noma, starting at 5 p.m. Candidates from across the county will present their platforms to the public during speeches ranging from 3 to 5 minutes.
Noma Councilwoman Josephine Curry coordinated the forum, and said the event will also include fundraising for enhancing recreational areas, such as the baseball field. Attendees will have the option to purchase either a hamburger or hotdog, along with chips and a drink, all for $5. Additionally, a cake auction featuring a variety of cakes donated by locals will be part of the event.
Curry said she planned this evening to serve as an opportunity to unite the community for a worthy cause.
“It has been my goal since I was sworn in on April 3, 2023, to help the town get more involved in recreational events,” she said.
“As with any event to be a success, you need willing and reliable help, which I found in Teresa Bush, jumping in to help plan the event,” Curry said. “I also want to thank the mayor and council members for allowing me to move forward with this venture.”
