FPTC ranked top community college in state

Florida Panhandle Technical College (FPTC) was recently named the number one community college in the state by Best Colleges. 

Best Colleges, an online educational planning resource, ranked FPTC above Pinellas Technical College, Lorenzo Walker Technical College and Emerald Coast Technical College, which ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.

This distinction is in addition to three of the college’s programs also earning high marks, both from Best Colleges and Prepler, a similar organization.

The Practical Nursing Program was ranked the best in the state by Best Value Schools for the second consecutive year, outpacing larger schools such as Lake Technical College and Fort Meyers Technical College.

Both Cosmetology and Welding programs are ranked number two in the state by Prepler, with Cosmetology also being ranked number two in the nation.

The Cosmetology Program ranked second in the nation only to San Jacinto Community College in Texas and is above larger programs such as those offered at Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Newbern and Lake Land College in Illinois.

FPTC’s Welding Program ranked in at number two in the state, just above William T. McFatter Technical College in Davie and Manatee Technical College in Bradenton.
