A 53-year-old Vernon man has been arrested on sexual molestation charges following an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 5, the WCSO school resource deputy initiated an investigation into sexual misconduct after a student was overheard alleging she had been sexually molested by the father of one of her friends.
A further investigation determined others came forward with similar allegations. The victims provided statements which revealed the molestation had taken place multiple times over a period of time, said the news release.
John Robert White, of Firefly Lane, Vernon, was arrested after WCSO investigators obtained a warrant for his arrest.
White was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with one count of lewd and lascivious behavior – victim age 12 to 16; one count of lewd and lascivious molestation – victim under age 12; asnd one count of lewd and lascivious battery – victim age 12 to 16.
