Crowds of people swayed to the sounds of electronic dance music (EDM) on Friday, May 3, during Sol Fest-an EDM festival being held at Vortex Spring in Ponce de Leon. Others chose to relax in the shade or by the springs.
Vendors had booths set up selling clothes, jewelry, and other items. Some attendees wore colorful clothes and displayed whimsical signs, a common feature at EDM festivals.
Musicians such as Bob Moses, Barclay Crenshaw, and others entertained the crowd with their beats while laser light shows, pyrotechnics, and dancers twirling sticks and other objects added to the atmosphere.
Sol Fest also saw artistic displays, people painting each other’s faces, and painting on special designated walls.
It has also been a busy weekend for law enforcement, who made a multitude of arrests for alleged drug possession. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office announced the many arrests in continual Facebook posts throughout the festival, which began Thursday, May 2 and is set to conclude Sunday, May 5.
