HCSO encourages community to honor EMS crews during National EMS Week

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to “Adopt an EMS Crew” during National EMS Week, set for May 19–23, as a show of appreciation for the county’s emergency medical responders.

In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, observed May 18–24, the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging community participation in a local appreciation initiative aimed at supporting EMS personnel.

According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, local residents, businesses, churches, and organizations are invited to “Adopt an EMS Crew” as a way to show gratitude for the work of these vital first responders. Participants may choose to contribute meals, snacks, handwritten notes, or small gifts as tokens of appreciation.

The initiative comes shortly after the EMS team officially joined the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office last month. The department hopes the gesture will help the newly integrated team feel welcomed and supported.

National EMS Week is an annual observance that recognizes the commitment and contributions of EMS professionals who provide emergency care and respond during critical times of need.
