Holmes County native Chris Lauen has been named Holmes CountyÂ’s new 4-H Youth Development Agent.
Lauen, who served many years with the Florida Department of Health, leading such programs and initiatives as Students Working Against Tobacco, began his service with UF/IFAS on October 25.
Holmes County Extension Agent Kalyn Waters says she is excited to have Lauen on board.
“In his role as the 4-H agent, Lauen will focus on building a youth development program that encompasses hands-on learning opportunities that will build character, leadership, and confidence in the youth in the county,” said Waters.
“In the near future we look to have active 4-H clubs across all the communities in the county.”
4-H is the nationÂ’s largest youth development organization.
