Traffic stop leads to drug trafficking charges

On July 12, a routine traffic stop on Highway 2 in Esto led to a drug seizure by deputies from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). The stop was initiated due to traffic violations involving a blue Dodge pickup and turned into a search after deputies observed narcotics in plain sight inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Brandon Quick, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered a bag containing 18 grams of methamphetamine during a search of the pickup. Both Quick and the passenger, identified as Danielle Hutchinson, were arrested at the scene.

Quick faces charges including trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.

Hutchinson faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violating state probation regulations.
